You are invited to be part of CFUMC Mission Team to MIDWEST MISSION
October 26 – 30, 2025
We will travel to Pawnee, IL (near Springfield, IL) on Sunday, October 26, 2025 and volunteer three days at the Midwest Mission, then drive home on Thursday, October 30th. They have sleeping accommodations and a kitchen for us to cook our own meals. (A volunteer kitchen coordinator is needed!)
What/Who is Midwest Mission?
Midwest Mission specializes in disaster relief supplies, education, health, and micro-business. They are a non-profit organization that was started with a grant from the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of the United Methodist Church in 2000. They are a Cooperating Depot in the UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Relief Supply Network. They also partner with the US Military, Food for the Poor and many other non-profits to bring humanitarian aid around the world and around the corner.
What will we do?
We will assemble kits, build desks, repair bicycles/sewing machines, sort/count materials, stuff mailings, sew, unload donations, assist with maintenance and meet the day’s needs. Whatever your abilities, there is an important job that needs you! Work will be prioritized and set up each day based on the most pressing needs of the Mission volunteers. All ability levels are welcome. We estimate the cost to be between $250 and $300 per participant. Financial assistance will be available.
