Fair Trade Coffee Sale

April 28

Get ready, coffee lovers! Chelsea First’s Missions Team invites you to place orders for Fair Trade coffees and teas during coffee hour time, 10-11 am, on Sunday, April 28. Proceeds will benefit the “Readers to Leaders” effort of the Michigan UMC. This program funds scholarships for school kids in Liberia as well as the “Freedom Schools” summer enrichment programs held at UMC churches in Flint and Detroit. Orders will be for full cases only (usually 6 bags for ground coffees), with payment to the church (cash or check) made at the time of order.

Many thanks to Candy Burns for coordinating this sale! Candy has a long history of raising missions funds via the coffee provider, Equal Exchange. This organization is devoted to building long-term relationships with farmers that are ecologically sound and economically just.
