Chelsea First’s Annual Church Conference

All are welcome and encouraged to attend the annual church conference for Chelsea First, which is scheduled for 9:30-11:30 a.m. Nov. 15 at Manchester United Methodist Church.  The annual conference is when several important items of local church business are considered.  This year the annual church conferences of Chelsea First and 15 other churches in the area will be conducted together at Manchester UMC.

“This means that multiple local churches will come together to share in worship and teaching time, voting on the business items of the church conference, and fellowship time,” says Senior Pastor Joy Barrett. “What a joy it will be to gather with United Methodist siblings from surrounding regions.”

The Chelsea First business items for the church conference include:

• A report of the Nominations and Leadership Development Team: electing persons to serve on our church’s Leadership Board, Nominations and Leadership Development Team and the three lay members to the annual conference session.
• A membership report, including action regarding membership of persons who have been inactive for an extended period.
• Clergy compensation recommendations.

Pastor Joy encourages all who attend to check with her upon arrival for a voting packet. Additional copies will be available at the church following the annual church conference.

“Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, Pastor Joy says. “All church members of Chelsea First are eligible to vote at the church conference. While it is not a long drive to Manchester, it is often fun to travel together.”
