Vital Conversations on Immigration – A Five Week Faith Journey

October 26 @ 10:05 am - 11:00 am

Vital Conversations on Immigration: A Five-Week Faith Journey

Starting Sunday, October 26, our church will begin a five-session study between services in room 207 (10:05–11:00 a.m.) called Vital Conversations on Immigration, created by the UMC General Commission on Religion and Race. This series is designed to help us explore immigration through the lens of faith, Scripture, and justice—and you’re invited to attend as you’re able, whether that’s one session or all five.

This series offers more than just information—it’s an invitation. A sacred opportunity to go deeper into our faith, into the stories of immigrants, and into our calling as disciples of Jesus Christ. Guided by voices of theologians, faith leaders, advocates, and immigrants themselves, each session fosters honest reflection on the realities of immigration today.

These conversations may be challenging. They may stir discomfort. But they also hold the promise of healing, growth, and transformation—if we are willing to listen with humility and respond with courage.

Here’s what we’ll explore together:

  • Oct. 26Immigration and the Bible: What Does Our Faith Require?
  • Nov. 2Why Do People Migrate?
  • Nov. 9Race, Culture, and Immigration: Who Belongs?
  • Nov. 16From Charity to Justice: The Church’s Role in Immigration
  • Nov. 23Connecting Faith, Race, and Immigration Justice

Come as you are. Bring your questions, your faith, and your open heart.

Let’s live into God’s call to be a sanctuary people—a people who welcome, advocate, and say clearly: “You are beloved. You belong.”
