Join Us for the Michigan Conference Day of Action – March 12, 2025
On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, United Methodists from across Michigan will gather in Lansing for the Michigan Conference Day of Action. This annual event is an opportunity for people of faith to meet with state legislators, advocate for justice, and call for meaningful change.
This year, we are focusing on the crisis in care caused by Michigan’s 2019 auto no-fault insurance reform.
Why This Matters
The 2019 legislation drastically changed Michigan’s auto insurance system, forcing drivers to choose from complex Personal Injury Protection (PIP) options. Unfortunately, these changes have had devastating consequences for crash survivors who require long-term care. Many medical providers can no longer afford to offer services, leaving seriously injured Michiganders without the care they need. This is not just a policy issue—it’s a moral crisis.
Faith leaders and medical professionals have been urging lawmakers to act, but solutions remain stalled. On Advocacy Day, we will focus on two key legislative priorities:
This is a bipartisan issue—one that transcends politics and speaks to our shared commitment to justice and dignity. By coming together, we can raise awareness and push for solutions that uphold the worth of every person.
