Monday Night Study Group

October 28 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Context: “the whole situation, background, or environment relevant to some happening. . .”; Webster’s New World Dictionary

We read the Bible looking for inspiration and guidance to help us in our daily lives, to understand God more fully, for values that will shape our lives. Too often, without the benefit of “context,” the words of the Bible provide only challenges and obstacles.  Adults of all ages are welcome to Monday night Bible study, beginning September 16, 6:30-8 pm. For seven weeks we will read and discuss the book Context, Putting Scripture In Its Place by Josh Scott, (available from your favorite bookseller, ~ $15).
Together we will learn to hear the words of the Bible in the context of those who created it, enriching our capacity to interpret and apply the Bible in our lives.

Why might you want to participate? Serious fun, discovery, inspiration, and connection – meet new friends and renew friendships.  You may participate by Zoom or in-person. Please sign up (required if you want the Zoom link) so we can be well-prepared for you. Sign up by: Emailing Max Plank.

Facilitators: Dawn Goellner, Max Plank, Joy Barrett
