DESCRIPTION:2026 Chelsea First UMC Family Camping Trip\nPack your tents\, campers\, lawn chairs\, and s’mores supplies — it’s time for a weekend of fellowship\, fun\, and fresh air! \nChelsea First UMC families are invited to join us for our 2026 Family Camping Trip from Friday\, July 24 through Sunday\, July 26 at Greenwood Acres Family Campground in Jackson\, Michigan. \nThis will be a wonderful opportunity to relax\, connect with other church families\, enjoy the outdoors\, and make memories together. Whether you are a longtime camper or just looking for a fun weekend away\, we hope you’ll join us for this special time of community and fellowship. \nFamilies are asked to RSVP with the number of individuals in their group so we can know who will be joining us. Each family should also contact Greenwood Acres directly at (517) 533-5432 to reserve a campsite. When calling\, try to reserve a site near the pool so our group can be close together. \nCome for the campfires\, stay for the fellowship — and maybe bring extra marshmallows\, just in case! \nPlease let us know your family is planning to attend by signing up through the link below. DESCRIPTION:Join Us for a Life-Changing Mission Experience in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula\nAugust 16–20\, 2025 \nAt Chelsea First United Methodist Church\, we believe that God calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things through acts of love\, service\, and compassion. This August\, we invite you to be part of something bigger than yourself as we partner with God’s Country Community Ministries in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula for a week of mission\, relationship-building\, and meaningful service. \nWhether you’ve been on dozens of mission trips or have never picked up a hammer in your life\, there is a place for you on this team. \nServing Together\, Making a Difference\nFrom August 16–20\, volunteers from Chelsea First UMC and Newburg United Methodist Church will travel to the Upper Peninsula to assist families and communities through home repair projects\, outreach ministries\, and practical acts of care. God’s Country Community Ministries has a long history of serving neighbors in need\, helping to improve homes while sharing hope and encouragement with those they serve. \nThis mission trip is about much more than construction projects. It’s about building relationships\, growing in faith\, and experiencing God’s presence in new and powerful ways. \nAs we serve alongside one another\, we’ll discover that mission changes not only the lives of those we help—it changes us as well. \nAll Skill Levels Welcome\nOne of the most common questions we hear is\, “What if I’m not handy?” \nThe answer is simple: You are still invited! \nThere are opportunities for every skill set and every comfort level. Whether you have experience with home repairs\, enjoy working alongside others\, excel at encouraging people\, or simply have a willing heart\, there is meaningful work for you to do. \nGod doesn’t call the equipped—God equips the called. \nDon’t Let Cost Keep You from Serving\nThe cost of the trip is $350\, which includes meals\, lodging\, and volunteer mission insurance. \nWe never want finances to prevent someone from answering God’s call to serve. Scholarships are available for anyone who may need assistance with the cost of the trip. If finances are a concern\, please reach out.
