SUMMARY:Maundy Thursday Worship
DESCRIPTION:April 2\, 2026 – Maundy Thursday \nScripture: John 13:1-35 \nOn his final night\, Jesus gathers with his closest friends around a shared table. He knows what’s coming—betrayal\, denial\, abandonment—yet he washes feet\, breaks bread\, and offers the cup. Even knowing what Judas will do\, Jesus does not turn him away. He serves him. He loves him. \nIn a world quick to cancel\, Jesus offers compassion. He refuses to define Judas—or any of us—by our worst moment. Instead\, he redefines what love looks like: not selective or safe\, but radical\, persistent\, and full of grace. \nThis Maundy Thursday\, we remember a love that kneels\, that serves\, that stays. It’s a love that includes even the ones who falter—Peter\, Judas\, and yes\, us too. The good news is this: nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. And if we’ve received that love\, we’re called to extend it—especially when it’s hard.

SUMMARY:Soup-er Sunday Speaker Series - House N2 Home
DESCRIPTION:Creating Homes Where Hope Grows \nWhat started in 2017 as a simple act of kindness—furnishing a home for a single mom and her children—has grown into a transformative community movement known as House N2 Home. Today\, this volunteer-driven nonprofit has fully furnished more than 1\,892 homes\, offering comfort and dignity to 3\,947 individuals\, including 1\,815 children and 240 veterans in our area. \nHouse N2 Home collects and donates everything from beds\, mattresses\, and couches to cleaning products\, kitchen essentials\, and wall art\, transforming empty apartments into warm\, welcoming homes for those transitioning out of homelessness and into stable housing. Their mission is simple yet profound: to create spaces where people can thrive. \nBehind this effort is a team of more than 200 dedicated volunteers\, working alongside over 50 local agencies to identify needs and deliver hope—one home at a time. \nYou’re invited to come and hear the powerful stories of this amazing organization and learn how lives are being changed—not just by furniture\, but by the love and community behind it. Whether you’re looking to volunteer\, donate\, or simply be inspired\, this is a story worth hearing. \nLet’s celebrate the work of House N2 Home and explore how we\, too\, can be part of creating homes where hope grows.  If you’re thinking about donating household items\, keep this organization at the top of your list. Click here for more information. \nPlease note: This special event will take place on Sunday\, March 29\, instead of April 5\, in order to accommodate Easter weekend. \nWe hope you’ll join us for this inspiring time of learning and connection!

SUMMARY:Parenting Group - Building Resilience in Children & Teens
DESCRIPTION:Our Parenting Group will resume\, and we will start the year with a great book:\nBuilding Resilience in Children and Teens by Kenneth R. Ginsburg with Martha M. Jablow.\nOver 8 weeks\, we will explore how to raise children that can be emotionally strong\, connected\, and rooted in love\, grounded in faith\, grace\, and community.\nBuilding Resilience in Children and Teens is a practical\, strength-based guide for adults who are raising\, teaching\, mentoring\, or caring for young people. The authors remind us that resilience can be taught and strengthened—it’s not something children either have or don’t have. Centered on the Seven Cs of Resilience\, the book offers everyday tools to help children meet challenges with confidence\, connection\, and hope as they grow.  This group is a supportive space for parents and caregivers to learn together\, share honestly\, and be reminded that we don’t do this work alone. \nMeeting Dates:\nFebruary 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\nMarch 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\nTime: 6:30–7:30 PM\nLocation: Room 207\nChild Care: Provided \nYou may also join online via Zoom. To receive the Zoom link\, please email Susan Adam-Rita. All parents and caregivers are welcome.

SUMMARY:UMCOR Sunday
DESCRIPTION:UMCOR Sunday is one of six churchwide Special Sundays designated to support ministries and causes important to the entire United Methodist Church. On this day\, we support the United Methodist Committee on Relief—better known as UMCOR—the disaster response and humanitarian relief agency of our church. \nWhen people face crisis—whether from natural disaster\, conflict\, or hunger—UMCOR is there to help. But that kind of response doesn’t just happen. It requires trained staff\, reliable systems\, and the ability to act quickly and compassionately. \nUMCOR Sunday matters because it sustains that foundation. By covering UMCOR’s administrative costs\, this Special Sunday makes sure the Church is equipped to respond whenever and wherever help is needed—without delay. \nWhen we support UMCOR Sunday\, we’re not just reacting to emergencies. We’re making it possible for the Church to be a consistent\, trusted presence in moments of urgent need. \nYou can give by check (write UMCOR Sunday in the memo line) and mail to the church or online at UMCOR Sunday.

SUMMARY:Messy Church - This Zoo Is Not For You!
DESCRIPTION:This session is based on the children’s book “This Zoo is Not for You” by Ross Collins. In the book\, a platypus goes to a zoo on the day when the animals are holding “interviews” for new additions. At every stop\, the platypus is dismissed as not being worthy of inclusion for some reason. But at the end of the day\, all the animals have a chance to reflect on their behavior and begin to regret turning the platypus away. As they reach back out to him they make a shocking discovery! \nThe session connects with Ephesians 4:1-6 and how we all belong to God. \n“Where people of all ages come together to share in music\, storytelling\, creative crafts\, and a delicious dinner.”

SUMMARY:Monday Night Bible Study - Doubt by Adam Hamilton
DESCRIPTION:Wrestling with Doubt\, Finding Faith by Adam Hamilton \nMonday Night Bible Study January 12 – February 16\, 2026 \nYou are warmly invited to join a new study on Monday evenings in the new year. Using Rev. Adam Hamilton’s book Wrestling with Doubt\, Finding Faith\, we will explore a variety of matters of faith. \nThe first is: does your faith make room for questions? Everyone has doubts. Where is God when bad things happen? Does God hear our prayers? Is there a heaven? How can we know? Often we treat such questions as the enemy of faith. But uncertainty doesn’t mean our belief is lacking. Doubt can be a path to a deeper\, richer encounter with God. \nIn his book\, author and pastor Adam Hamilton discusses some of our most significant sources of doubt and shows how a steady trust in God can emerge from them. We will delve into questions like: “Does God exist? How can I know?” “Is the Bible true?” “Why do prayers go unanswered?” \nHamilton approaches these sources of doubt with honesty and insight\, drawing on the rich wisdom of the Bible\, Christian tradition\, and his experience walking with thousands of people on their spiritual journey. Whether you’re a longtime Christian or someone brand new to faith\, this book will be a resource as we reach for a trust in God that is unafraid of hard questions. Wrestle with doubt and find faith—belief and trust\, not certainty; mystery rather than simple answers. \nThis class welcomes participants by Zoom and in-person. You may purchase a copy of the book from your favorite book seller.  This class begins Monday\, January 12\, 6:45-8:15 pm and will continue through February 16. Please Sign up Here or contact Max Plank\, Dawn Goellner or Joy Barrett.

SUMMARY:Messy Church - Fill A Bucket
DESCRIPTION:In her book\, “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” Carol McCloud invites us to imagine that we all carry around buckets. When people are kind or when someone encourages us\, our buckets are filled. If we are mean to someone\, we deplete their buckets. This great children’s book is a good way to talk about the “Golden Rule” in Matthew 7:12 – “Treat others as you’d like to be treated.” \nThis Messy Church session combines the story book and activities around kindness and service to explore Jesus’ instructions on how to treat others. \nHelp Us Fill a Bucket! \nAs we prepare for our February Messy Church Celebration on February 8\, from 4:00–5:30 PM\, we invite you to help us make this experience extra meaningful by donating boxes of cereal (please\, no Cheerios). \nOur theme is FILL A BUCKET! During our celebration\, we will explore how loving God and loving one another — especially our neighbors — can set off a beautiful chain of kindness in our community. The cereal boxes will be used during our story and celebration time to help illustrate how filling someone else’s bucket fills our own as well. \nAfter our celebration\, all donated cereal will be given to Faith in Action\, helping support families in our wider community. Donations can be dropped off in the church lobby through February 8. \nHelp us make this chain of kindness extra special — one box at a time. Thank you for being part of this joyful act of love!
