DESCRIPTION:Souper Sunday: Jesus Was a Migrant\nSunday\, October 4 | 5:00 p.m. | Grams Hall \nOur Souper Sunday Speaker Series returns this fall with an evening of film\, conversation\, food\, and fellowship. \nWe’ll begin with a screening of Jesus Was a Migrant\, a short documentary executive-produced by historian and author Dr. Jemar Tisby. The film travels to the U.S.-Mexico border and invites viewers to consider questions about migration\, asylum\, and what Christian faith asks of us in responding to our neighbors. \nFollowing the film\, we’ll have an opportunity for open discussion before gathering around tables for a shared meal and facilitated small-group conversation. \nSouper Sundays are designed to create space for learning\, thoughtful conversation\, and connection—even when the subjects we explore are complex. You don’t need to come with all the answers. Come ready to listen\, learn\, share a meal\, and get to know others around the table. \nA freewill offering will be received to help offset the cost of screening the film. \nAll are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:Social Justice Action Team\nRooted in Christ’s call to love our neighbors\, the Social Justice Action Team is committed to learning\, listening\, and taking faithful action for equity and justice. The team facilitates learning through book studies that center on racial and social justice\, fostering deep discussion and reflection. \nFrom September through June\, we host our Monthly Soup-er Sunday Speaker Series\, where all are welcome. These events lead with an informative talk by a local leader or activist followed by open conversation. We then share a meal of soup and sides. \nWe also lead specific initiatives that vary based on need. Whether you’re just beginning or have long been engaged in justice work\, please join us in this important work. \nSocial Justice Action Team
